While the very serious, very busy editors and team run who run the Standard balance their serious careers, immediate and sudden thrust into the spotlight, and wait for a call from Hendo, the City was paid a visit by a highly skilled, non human being.
Right on theme, our extraterrestrial visitors is known only, quite aptly, as @degnr8_.
When a UFO landed in town atop Marketown, to the total surprise of team Standard, we asked its Alien captain how he found us and why.
Speaking in fragmented semi-English, we were able to understand his explanation as:
“From MoM-z14 on the other side of the galaxy we could see not only the energy and radio waves of City of Newcastle, painted in red and blue, but the meteoric rise of your paper.”
“We thought you might exit Earth’s stratosphere and need some friends across the galaxy.”
