Grand Final Week

(STEEL) WORKS BURGER CHEERS: Spiritual successor to the jewel in the crown of Henny Penny’s former near global empire, @vinnys_takeawaygtown are offering a year of free feeds to whichever local legends secures the original 17 grand final boys.

The generous offer was put forward by local legend, Paul Maroulis, who runs the hot spot with his family, to give something back to the community he so treasures. In comment to our reports, midway through a kickflip:

“Bring me one beating pulse in this town who wouldn’t be persuaded to save the day when there is a semi-trailer of fresh cut chippies waiting out the back here for them.”

“I’ve given over 30 years to feeding this city, during triumph and struggles, and if it means the right thing is done I’ll not only feed the Hero, I’ll also build a replica of Queens Wharf Tower.”

“I named this joint in honour of my son for God’s sake.

Town should make no mistake about how far I will go.”

Before we could finish our exclusive interview, Paul was on the roof and climbing Vinny’s famous pillar.

We have since learned that he has constructed a half pipe in the pillar, which is one of Georgetown’s most tightly guarded secrets.
